Biography
I have had an interesting journey and this project was about finding a Niche and how can I make a living and work for myself in the 50 something of life. I had the opportunity to work with the Parksville Career Centre in the Self-employment program with Community Futures.
D’Ars Denim Mission is to supply our local community with premium luxury jeans, no more city shopping for your jeans or paying huge retail prices $50 & $70 some new and some barely worn. The idea is to be the Jean Queens of the island and elsewhere. I love meeting people wherever and whatever I do and now I can be sure that the ladies in our community can find a properly fitted jean and have a little fun as well in the shop. I have a supplier for my jeans and we are using her business model and we believe it is going to work here too.
We are also of Metis Heritage and will be incorporating some Ancestry apparel from Indigenous women entrepreneurs into some of our collections at the store as well.
We love being involved in our community and look forward to being part of the Local Business Women’s network as well.
